As of July 1, 2004, we have 8 new PGY1 residents, 14 new CA1 Residents ,and 2 Pain Fellows.  Below is a bit of information on each.

PGY1

Soozan S. Abouhassan

Soozan received her BSN degree in Nursing from Case Western Reserve University – Cleveland, OH and her M.D. degree from Wright State University School of Medicine – Dayton, OH.  She will begin her rotation in Medicine at UH.

Michael D. Altose

Michael received his B.A. degree in Biology (magna cum laude) and Chemistry (with high honors) from Brandeis University – Waltham, MA.  He received both his Ph.D. degree (Biochemistry), and his M.D. degreefrom Case Western Reserve University – Cleveland, OH.  He will beginhis rotation in Medicine at UH.

Naeem Bhatti

Naeem received his Bachelor’s of Chemical Engineering from Vilanova University – Vallanova, PA and his M.D. degree from Drexel University College of Medicine (Formerly MCP Hahnemann School of Medicine – Philadelphia, PA.  He will begin his rotation in Medicine at UH.

Ryan E. Braun

Ryan received his B.S. degree in Biological Sciences and B.A. degree in German from the University of California at Davis – Davis, CA.  He received his M.D. degree from Finch University of Health Sciences/Chicago Medical School – North Chicago, IL.  He will begin his rotation in Medicine at UH.

Chloe M. Dent

Chloe received her B.A. degree in Religion from Columbia University – New York, NY and her M.D. degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine – Cleveland, OH.  She will begin her rotation in Medicine at UH.

Ann E. Lawrence

Ann received her B.A. degree in Biology from Mercyhurst College – Erie, PA and her M.D. degree from NEOUCOM (Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine – Rootstown, OH.  She will begin her rotation in Medicine at UH.

Gregory J. Stetz

Gregory received his B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from Case Western Reserve University – Cleveland, OH and his M.D. degree from Ohio State University College of Medicine – Columbus, OH.  He will begin his rotation in the Pain Service – Department of Anesthesiology at UH.

Tiffany S. Su

Tiffany received her B.A. degree in Communications-Broadcast Journalism from the University of Houston – Houston, TX and her M.D. degree from Texas Tech University School of Medicine – Lubbock, TX.  She will begin her rotation in Medicine at UH.

Maria M. Defante

Maria received her B.A. degree in Biological Sciences from Northwestern University – Evanston, IL of Michigan, her Master of Science in Applied Physiology and her M.D. degree from Finch University of Health Sciences/Chicago Medical School – North Chicago.  She is presently a PGY1 Intern in our program at UH.

Adam D. Evec

Adam received his B.A. degrees in Biology and Chemistry from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, MO and his D.O. degree from the University of Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine – Kansas City, MO.  He is presently a PGY1 Intern our program at UH.

Shawn M. Hall

Shawn received his B.S. degree in Medical Technology from Michigan State University – East Lansing, MI and his D.O. degree from Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine – Kirksville, MO.  He is presently doing his Internship at Genesys Regional Medical Center - Grand Blanc, MI.

Jonathan D. House

Jonathan received his B.S. degree in Biology (minor in Spanish) from Indiana University – Bloomington, IN and his M.D. degree from Indiana University School of Medicine – Indianapolis, IN.  He is presently a ENT Surgery Resident at UH.

Blake B. Jensen

Blake received his B.S. degree in Zoology from Brigham Young University – Provo, UT and his D.O. degree from Des Moines University/Osteopathic Medical Center – Des Moines, IA. He is presently a PGY1 Intern in our program at UH.

Hui S. Kang

Hui received his B.A. degree in Biology from Texas A&M University – College Station, TX and his M.D. degree from Texas Tech University School of Medicine – Lubbock, TX.  He is presently a PGY1 Surgery Intern at Fairview Hospital – Cleveland, OH

Timothy Y. T. Ko

Timothy received his B.S. degree in Combined Science from Youngstown State University – Youngstown, OH and his M.D. degree from NEOUCOM (Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine. He is presently a PGY1 Intern in our program at UH.

Bradley R. Lewis

Bradley received his B.A. degree (cum laude) in Zoology from Miami University – Oxford, OH and his M.D. degree from the Medical College of Ohio – Toledo, OH.  He is presently a PGY1 Intern in our program at UH.

Jeremy M. Lipshutz

Jeremy received his B.A. degree in Biology from Grinnell College – Grinnell, IA his Master of Health Sciences in Epidemiology from the Johns Hopkins University School of Hygiene and Public Health – Baltimore, MD and his M.D. degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine – Detroit, MI.  He is presently a PGY1 Intern in our program at UH.

Silvia Olejnikova

Silvia received her B.S. degree in Biochemistry from St. Mary’s University – San Antonio, TX and her M.D. degree from the University of Texas Medical School at San Antonio, TX. She is presently a PGY1 Intern in our program at UH.

Michael (Chad) Owens

Chad received his B.S. degree in Biology from the University of Central Oklahoma – Edmond, OK and his D.O. degree from Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine – Tulsa, OK.  He is presently doing his Internship at the University of Oklahoma – Tulsa, OK.

David C. Reeder

David received his B.S. degree in Microbiology from Washington State University – Pullman, WA and his M.D. degree from the University of Washington School of Medicine – Seattle, WA.  He is presently a PGY1 Intern in our program at UH.

PAIN FELLOWS

Rainier E. Guiang

Rainier received his B.S. degree in Biology from the University of California – Los Angeles, CA and his M.D. degree from the American University of the Caribbean – WEST INDIES.  He is presently finishing his Anesthesiology Residency at UH.

Alfredo S. Romero

Alfredo received his Bachelor in Biology and Chemistry fromVicente Rocafuerte High School – Guayaquil, ECUADOR and his M.D.Degree from the University of Guayaquil School of Medicine – Guayaquil, ECUADOR.  He did his Internship in Internal Medicine at Temple University Hospital – Philadelphia, PA and is currently finishing his Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Residency at the University of Chicago/Schwab Rehabilitation Hospital and Care Network – Chicago, IL.
